A Different Drummer Books and Penguin Random House of Canada are hosting an evening with a renowned author.

Martin Amis, one of Britain’s most influential writers for more than 40 years, is a satirist, critic and essayist.

Amis is presenting his newest book The Rub of Time, a collection of diverse essays, at The Shoreline Room in The Art Gallery of Burlington on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

His novel Time’s Arrow was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize and Money: A Suicide Note won acclaim from both Time Magazine and The Guardian, cited by both as one of the best 100 novels written in English.

Leading the conversation with Amis will be Richard Crouse, author, broadcaster and film critic, and a longtime movie correspondent for Canada AMCTV NewsChannel and CP24.

Tickets to the author talk cost $10. Call 905-639-0925 or email diffdrum@mac.com to reserve a ticket.
